Theories and techniques include Narrative therapy, CBT, mindfulness, play therapy, IFS, (Internal Family Systems), Brainspotting, Existential, Feminist, and Jungian/archetypal theory, and short-term solution-focused strategies. Specialty areas with teens and young adults include transitions such as high school to college and the post-college years, high-performing students struggling with perfectionism and anxiety, the LGBTQ+ community, and first-generation college students. Tara’s background in education informs her counseling work, especially as students today face multiple academic, social, and emotional challenges.

Interested in the entire span of human development.

Tara also supports adult life adjustments such as parenting, relationship issues, divorce, vocational concerns, midlife, retirement, aging, illness, grief, and loss. Past clients include those with issues such as ADHD, ASD, PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bullying/social exclusion, and mild to severe adverse childhood experiences.
